For anyone who has even slightly glanced at my posts hopefully understands my financial goal is getting away from the traditional means of trading my time and/or labor for money. We live in a radically different world than our parents did and, in some cases, than even our older siblings.
And that’s not necessarily bad. Times have changed. And keep changing by the minute. It’s definitely challenging, but I believe if you’re willing and capable of adapting with these changes, willing to depart that comfy cozy zone and most importantly embrace and overcome your fears and failures, anyone’s chances of successfully finding financial freedom is not only possible, but highly likely.
I most certainly have not achieved financial freedom and the ability to leave behind that previously mentioned idea of no longer needing to trade my time for money. But I consistently aim in that direction. I align my shorter term goals with that end game goal in mind and focus on paths that allow me to gain some progress, no matter how limited that may be.
But today I wanna throw out a simple concept to hopefully offer some insight on how two mind blowing concepts are much easier to set in motion than you probably think.
First off, anyone with more money than they know what to do with will tell you one of the most important aspects of financial independence is diversification. Don’t rely on a single source of income. Do not overwhelm yourself or try to go from broke to 10 income streams overnight, but instead focus on your strongest source for possible revenue and grow it into a self sustaining and financially stable source. Then move on to growing the next. Shortcuts and strained focus will only cause the quality of your business to be lackluster and watered down.
My second tip can be difficult at times, but so very worth it in the end. While in the process of developing new sources of financial growth take a second to see how you can incorporate several strategies to add to your earnings. All the while remembering that it’s not essential to take nothing and turn it into a multi billion dollar empire overnight. Start slow and keep focus. Let the natural flow of things help you to scale the income source. Rushing the process and setting unrealistic expectations is not only detrimental to a prospective business, but it’s flat out unhealthy for your blown mental well-being.
Every time you deposit a dollar into the bank, the institution takes that single dollar and loans it back out NINE times. I understand you can’t do quite the same thing, but you can most certainly achieve a similar outcome by combining a few simple steps that lead in the same direction you’re already venturing.
Now I’m gonna lay down a great example for you that I have tested myself, and currently use to supplement my own income. While it does involve a more traditional aspect of trading time for money, it also employs some out of the box thinking, grouping of multiple income sources, definitely some extra effort and most importantly, a multifaceted income stream exponentially larger than just simply trading my time for money. So here it is. I recently started delivering through door dash, which I’ll drop a link below if you think you’d like to give that shot and earn some extra income. BUT… while there is some decent money to made in third party delivery services, I have done a ton of research, experimenting, some failures, and some serious adjustments to bring you a list of ways you can make that door dash dollar work several times over for you, just like the way the banks do!
So depending on your availability and the area you choose to dash, you can easily make a few hundred bucks a week, in your spare time. Working only when you choose to and only where you decide to go. But add in these extra steps along the way and you can easily double or even triple that money, and it will only take you a couple extra minutes here and there and WILL NOT cost you a single cent extra to implement.
Since dashing will basically guarantee that you will explore every square inch of the city you choose to dash in, you need to download the miles app! Simple grab the app from whatever App Store you currently use and sign up with your email. BOOM. You’re gonna start getting points for every single mile you drive. And bonus points for walking, running, public transit, carpooling, and several other means of transportation. The app runs in the background. Doesn’t need to be turned on or set up each time. It just automatically logs the distance traveled and rewards you for it!!!! Then turn those points into gift cards fir just about anything you can think of. It’s not ridiculously and unrealistically hard to generate enough points to to actually trade them in either. I’ve already grabbed quite a few target, Amazon and Starbucks cards. As well as some other random perks along the way like free magazine subscriptions for my wife. Some random trials to streaming services for 3 months at a time and many other random things I would have never tried if not got the app! Plus! Just for using my link to sign up, new MILES accounts will get 4,000 points when you sign up. That’s enough on day one to grab your first gift card and get an idea of just how much value this will add to your process, without any effort whatsoever.

Now these next few additional, and lucrative, steps can get tedious. But I promise you they’re worth it. When you dash, the company will tell you to withhold your receipts from the delivery recipients. You essentially only get the receipts so you can easily keep track of multiple deliveries picked up on the same trip. So at the end of every dash I am left with a stack of receipts that should not be given to the customer, yet are unwanted by door dash themselves. SOOO… boom. More extra income for me!!! (And you!!!!) below I’m gonna drop quite a few links for apps that pay you just for snapping a pic of the receipts you accumulate throughout your daily travels. COINOUT is probably my favorite. They have a random scale that ranges between 3 and 30 (I think) cents per snapped receipt. Absolute free money. The value is insane. I cashed out $62 the first week I used this particular app! It’s crazy fast and super easy. And every one of the apps I’ll link have different bonus features to rapidly speed up the growth of your earnings.
Fetch will have certain items that will give bonus coins. And has a minimum so you’ll always get something for every receipt!
Receipt hog has a cool little slot machine reel you get to spin for bonus coins.
Receipt pal gives bonuses once you exceed a certain number of receipts for the week you’ll start to gain bonus entries into a weekly drawing for big payouts!
These all look unimpressive when viewed individually. But start adding the door dash earnings, the rapidly accumulated points per mile, and entering each receipt you acquire into multiple platforms for various payouts for each receipt ( and I promise you there will be a crazy high number of receipts to capitalize on) you enter and you can see how just a few hrs a week can turn into an unexpectedly large amount of side hustle income, with a surprisingly slim amount of energy.
